Rocket French 6 Day Course -
Vital Phrases for Conversation (audio lesson)

Marie-Claire RivièreBonjour and welcome back for Day 5 of Rocket French's 6-Day course!

The audio track included in today's lesson is the 3rd track from our popular Rocket French Interactive Audio Course. The track is about 25 minutes long, and it will function kind of like a list of survival tactics in French conversations. It will show you how to slow the pace of the social exchange and convey when you don't understand something.

Remember, this track is only a sample of the full Rocket French package, which includes nearly 30 more audio tracks, a complete 45-lesson grammar course, and our crowd-pleasing line of "MegaFrench" learning games.

Double click on the audio button below to listen to your next French lesson.

As you follow the lesson, you’ll not only be able to understand the conversation, but you'll actually take part in it yourself.

Because you will be participating in the lesson, make sure that you listen in a quiet place where you can speak aloud without being disturbed.

Let’s get started!

» French Conversation

Claire Est-ce que vous parlez français?
Paul: Oui, un peu.
Claire Est-ce que vous me comprenez?
Paul: Oui, mais pouvez-vous parler un peu plus lentement?
Claire Bien sûr. Ça va mieux?
Paul: Oui merci.
Claire Est-ce que vous parlez aussi verlan?
Paul: Je ne sais pas. Qu’est-ce que c’est?
Claire Hahaha!

» English Translation

Claire Do you speak French?
Paul: Yes, a little.
Claire Can you understand me?
Paul: Yes, but can you speak a little more slowly?
Claire Of course. Is that better?
Paul: Yes, thank you.
Claire Do you also speak slang?
Paul: I don't know. What's that?
Claire Hahaha!

So there you have the fundamentals of social interaction in French. After you accomplish that, you'll have a clear enough head to start thinking about what comes next: written and grammatical French. The next lesson will break it all down for you so that you can see how French sounds turn into French words and the other way around.

So tune in next time, when you'll see the written components of the Vital Phrases you heard in this audio track!

Á la prochaine (See you next time)!
Marie
