Many words found in the world of entertainment will be the same in French and in English. You will remember from a previous lesson that the word for CD is the same in both languages, and so it is for DVD, iPod, Film, Cinéma, and Thrillers.
Look at the following expressions which relate to going to the movies, catching a show and eating out.

| Movie or show | La séance |
| At what time does the movie start? | La séance est à quelle heure? |
| There is a good movie on TV tonight! | Il y a un bon film à la Télé ce soir! |
| How much is the ticket? | C’est combien le billet? |
| We will go to the restaurant tomorrow | Nous irons au restaurant demain |

France has its own popular celebrity magazines and one which combines French current affairs with world issues and showbiz events, is the Paris Match. For years it was the leading "revue magazine" bringing lives of international celebrities to the public.
Here are some key words referring to everyday entertainment:
