Salut, ça va?
Computers, Internet, Email and Cell phones have their own jargon in French and you can look at some of the basics of French techno-speak right now! The most common things that happen to users of everyday technology are things like needing to log out, turn out, turn off and delete. We also use texting and instant messaging in everyday communication and commonly need to block calls, add a buddy to our list, talk, and send.
For example:
» Audio 1 Double Click Play To Hear Audio
| To talk | Parler |
| To send | Envoyer |
| To browse | Naviguer |
| Home page | La page d’acceuil |
| To get connected | Connecter |
| To download | Télécharger |
| To switch on | Allumer |
| To switch off | Éteindre |
Calling someone and finding an answer phone recording might prove challenging in a new language! Here is a short cut to leaving a message:
» Audio 2 Double Click Play To Hear Audio
| Hello, its… | Allo, c’est… |
| It’s a message for… | C’est un message pour… |
| My number here is… | Mon numéro ici est… |
| I look forward to hearing back from you, thank you! |
J’attends votre appel, merci! |

Next newsletter we will talk about family and the French terms for all your relatives! Also, the all-important terms in French for "boyfriend" and "girlfriend"!
À très bientôt! (See you very soon!)
