When the French raise their glasses for a toast, they say “santé”, which means health. Here are some useful expressions about well-being in the important area of personal balance and health care.

| In poor health | En mauvaise santé |
| I feel good today! | Je me sens bien aujourd’hui! |
| I am not feeling well! | Je me sens mal! |
| Natural medicine | La médecine naturelle |
| Health foods | Les aliments naturels |
| Health food shop | Le centre diététique |
| Health center | Le centre de santé |
And the word for health in the following well-known phrase is translated as “le meilleur” which means literally “the best”!
