I moved from England to France in June 2004 and I bought a house very much in rural France. My intention was to become part of normal French life. But to do that it was essential that I learn as much conversational French as quickly as possible. I did very little French at school and that was many years ago, so I was a novice. I researched many French language courses both those that required actual attendance and those by home learning and it was quite evident that the home learning route was the most suitable for me.

I did not want to get bogged down with highly grammatically correct courses—normal conversational French being the aim. I tried Rocket French and found that its structure was exactly what I was looking for; I have now been using Rocket French for nearly a year and have been involved, as a user, in its progress. Now through this course my French has improved rapidly and I'm able to hold conversation with the local people.
