Imagine you have just arrived at the International Airport in Frankfurt. It’s a lovely warm summer evening, but you had a long flight and all you want is a bed to fall into. You follow the signs to Gepäckrückgabe, baggage claim, to pick up your luggage and stand in line at the Passkontrolle, customs. After passing through customs you follow the path marked Ankunftshalle, arrival hall. Now, you need to find a place to stay.

Once you have decided where to stay you need to find out how to get there.

A taxi ride can be quite expensive in Germany, so you might want to get an idea of the price before you hop in. Public transport is usually punctual and reasonably fast, as most cities have bus lanes. Here are some important words and phrases for you to remember.
