Rocket German 6 Day Course! -
Greetings in German (audio lesson)
You asked for it! |
Guten Tag and welcome to day 1 of your Rocket German 6 day course.
This is the first in a series of lessons that I'll be sending you. I put these lessons together to help people start speaking German fast!
Unlike other courses, I’m not going to start you on memorizing vocabulary words or practicing grammar. Rather, you’re going to start learning to SPEAK German in a conversation, right from the get-go!
The audio track below is the Introduction track from the Rocket German Interactive Audio Course. While the Introduction track is 15 minutes long, the remaining 30 audio tracks in the course are each around 25 to 30 minutes long.
Double click on the audio button below to listen to the Introduction track on basic greetings in German. Each audio lesson will begin with a conversation between me and my friend Nik. As you follow the lesson, you’ll learn not only to understand the conversation completely, but actually to take part in it yourself.
You will be asked to participate in the lesson, so make sure that you listen in a quiet place where you can speak aloud without being disturbed. By the end of it, you’ll be able to greet someone in German and ask how they are.
Let’s get started!

| Paul: | Hast du deinen Skipaß? |
| Nik: | Klar. Weißt du wo ich mir Skier leihen kann? |
| Paul: | Direkt neben dem Lift ist ein Verleih. |
| Nik: | Ich hoffe ich kann noch Ski fahren. |
| Paul: | Wie meinst du das? |
| Nik: | Na, es ist schon lange her. |
| Paul: | Wir können auch einen Schlitten mieten. |
| Nik: | Nee, Schlitten sind für Kinder. Ich will Skier. |
| Paul: | Ich mag übrigens deine Pudelmütze. Du siehst lustig aus. |
» English Translation
| Paul: | Have you got your ski pass? |
| Nik: | Of course. Do you know where I can rent skis? |
| Paul: | There is a rental place right next to the ski lift. |
| Nik: | I hope I can still ski. |
| Paul: | What do you mean? |
| Nik: | Well, it’s been a long time. |
| Paul: | We could also rent a sled. |
| Nik: | No, sleds are for kids. I want skis. |
| Paul: | I like your hat, by the way. You look funny. |
I really hope you enjoyed taking these first steps toward learning the wonderful German language with me, and you're starting to get an idea of how the words look, sound, and feel.
See you next time.
Bis bald.
