Hotel

kyā āpake pāsa eka kamarā upalabdha hai?

Do you have a room available?

Two useful words to know at this point are "kamaraa" a room, and "khaalee" available or literally free. The receptionist may respond…

hām̐, hamāre pāsa kamare upalabdha haiṃ/ hām̐, hamāre pāsa khālī kamare haiṃ

Yes, we still have rooms available.

nahīṃ, koī kamarā khālī nahīṃ hai ।

No, unfortunately we have no rooms available.

nahīṃ, sabhī kamare ārakṣita haiṃ ।

No, we are booked out.

When asking for the price the receptionist at the hotel will need to know for how many people and for how many nights you want the room.

kitane logoṃ ke lie?

For how many people?

kitanī rātoṃ ke lie?

For how many nights?

You might answer:

do logoṃ ke lie ।

For two people

eka rāta ke lie ।

For one night

The receptionist may also ask whether you want a single or a double room.

eka siṃgala kamarā

A single room

eka ḍabala kamarā

A double room

Single bed in Hindi

Your answer may look like this…

mujhe eka siṃgala kamarā do rātoṃ ke lie cāhie

A single room for two nights, please.

mujhe eka ḍabala kamarā eka rāta ke lie cāhie

A double room for one night, please.

When asking for the price simply say “keemat kya hai…” how much is it for… and add the type of room and number of nights you want. For example:

eka siṃgala kamarā do rātoṃ ko lene kī kīmata kyā hai?

How much is it for a single room for two nights?

eka ḍabala kamarā eka rāta ko lene kī kīmata kyā hai?

How much is it for a double room for one night?

Some hotels charge per room, others per person. Here are some possible answers you might get to hear…

eka rāta ko sattara rupaye hoṃge । / eka rāta ke lie sattara rupaye hoṃge

That costs 70 Rupees per night.

eka vyakti ke lie paccāsa rupaye hoṃge

That costs 50 Rupees per person.

eka ḍabala rūma ke 50 rupaye prati vyakti kharca hoṃge

A double room costs 50 Rupees per person.

eka siṃgala kamare kā prati rāta kharcā paccāsa rupaye hogā

A single room costs 50 Rupees per night
