I can't. I have just started some days ago. To say something awesome so soon after starting should be carefully evaluated. Studying Chinese isn't easy. Maybe I have something positive to say at the end of my first course. Thank you.

If you are a language lover like me and wish to learn many languages but not the typical boring way and want to fast forward it, go for rocket languages which gives you an amazing experience of how to converse in any language...Rocket Languages is the best place to learn a language quickly and efficiently.

Rocket Languages is awesome for people with a lot of time on their hands, but the lessons are far too long for someone with a busy schedule. The Hear It Say It and Write It sections are absurdly long and time consuming. I wish it were at or below 50.

I really like the mix of exercises for each lesson. I am hoping to get to more phrases soon rather than single words. I would like to be able to do some longer quizzes. that represent a few lessons at a time. But good so far.

Response from Rocket Languages

Hi Christine, thank you for taking the time to provide us with some feedback. It's great to hear that you are enjoying the reinforcement activities, and we appreciate your comments about how these could be improved; I have passed these on to the product development team. If you are looking for longer quizzes you could check out the "Module Certification Tests" in the "Tools" section. These are short tests that reflect the content of each module. We wish you all the best with your language learning!

The record with voice recognition grading really helps to get your pronunciation right, and the playback of your voice really helps you find out why you did get the grade you expected. These tools give a strong incentive to practice speaking, and have helped me to progress faster. The downside is that these tools are only practically useful on PC and not useful on Android because of speed and different limited web page. (I cannot speak for Apple versions).

I would give the course 5 stars if all features were available on all platforms.

On android viewing the website, speech recognition is so much slower to respond, and much less accurate, so the time delays become frustrating - it is very dependent on internet and wireless speed. The key thing android misses is it that it has no ability to play back what you said (so that you can hear and correct your own mistakes). From the forum comments this appears to have been missing for 2 years or more, and I think Rocket Languages should make playback of your own voice a priority fix for android users.

i like Rocket Languages because im gonna learn korean languages Pretty good deal I would say! What I like very much are your e-mail follow ups, so I get constantly reminders to learn more Spanish in case I get too lazy. Rocket Spanish is pretty unique to me, because usually one buys a language course and when you have paid for it you're left alone with no help at all, let alone steady reminders and follow ups. You are like a live teacher to me, who cares about his student. I really appreciate your approach and willingness to help your customers. I would like to give you guys the highest compliments because I am a not only businessman and customer but I certainly know how it is to get help after acquiring something and to be reminded that there are people which really care and give you a helping hand when needed, you give the best of possible support. Many business lack this support, Your certainly DO NOT!show less

The courses itself are well structured and have intuitive user interface. I also like that you often repeat phrases in next lessons.
However the performance of the web site and its responsiveness is not always very good. I had few days when lessons hangs and I also see that while doing speaking exercises it is quite often that it will not catch the phrase I speak even after 2-3 attempts.

I have no plans to visit Egypt, but I want to read Naguib Mafouz's books without having to look up all the dialog, word by word, so I was interested in at least an introduction to Egyptian. The Rocket Arabic course offers far more than an introduction - there's a mass of the spoken language, if not much grammar, which seems pretty easy after some MSA. I skipped ahead from Module 1 to Module 4 (which has a lesson with Naguib Mafouz in the title) and decided to finally try out the Chrome version to see how it graded my pronunciation. The app graded my MSA at 100% (set on Hard), but routinely flunked my Egyptian (around 30%) - it wanted quhlumu ruhsuhsun, not alum whatever for pencil. So I'm going back to Firefox and not worrying about the pronunciation, beyond trying to mimic the native speaker as closely as possible. Once I finish Module 4 I'll go back to 2 and proceed in order from there (happily skipping the lessons on numbers, which are absolutely essential when you're in a country but take an inordinate amount of time if you really just want a reading knowledge of a language).

As far as recommending Rocket Arabic to a friend, it really depends on what they want it for.

Awesome?
Well, we do not like Paul's condescending and patronizing manner (it's not funny). We are both teachers, and we were hoping for more professionalism.
My husband and I are going through the lessons together, and we feel the lesson content is practical and appropriate. We feel we are learning a lot to use in everyday situations.
Bon Chance!

I'm very happy with the format and tools provided. It's always good to approach learning from multiple angle, and super important in language learning to have conversations. Rocket is providing all these things. The one thing I don't like is that the early lessons are teaching the "familiar" form of you, and not teaching the "formal" at all. I'm learning for the sake of speaking to my father's caregiver, and I know she prefers Usted. I've also gotten horrible stares when I accidentally used familiar conjugation when trying to practice Spanish with Spanish speaking acquaintances. I know there are places that don't use the formal, but in places that do, I believe survival Spanish (ordering from a menu, etc) would be much better used with the formal, which is always respectful with people you don't know. And would be understood as meaning to be respectful even in places it's not commonly used.

Response from Rocket Languages

Response from Rocket Languages: Thanks so much for your review. We're glad to hear that you're enjoying the Rocket teaching method! As for formal vs. informal forms of address in our lessons, we do start out with informal conversations in the first few Interactive Audio lessons, but if you keep going, you will find formal conversations as well, as early as Lesson 1.4! And if you're looking specifically to practice ordering formally in a restaurant or at a bakery, you can find conversations on those topics in Module 4. You can also find both the formal and informal forms being taught right from the very beginning in our Language & Culture lessons. I hope that this is helpful!
