Find out what actual users have to say about our courses through their Rocket Languages reviews.
I'm not going to sugarcoat this, so don't look for it in any Rocket promotional material. :-)
Had a little bit of an issue when trying to buy this product. Wasn't Rocket's fault and they were very helpful in getting it resolved.
I am currently at lesson 2.4.
This is a good product for learning and practicing speech in Japanese. The exercises are very geared towards that, along with some writing. While it has been great for speech, I use a different product for grammar.
The interface is simple to figure out and use, so you don't have to waste a lot of time trying to figure out how to do courses. Japanese is hard enough as it is without trying to master a weird interface too.
This is really meant to help the student SPEAK the language, not necessarily stressing grammar too much, though it might in later lessons.
I've used a lot of tools for learning Japanese, but Rocket is the best at making you speak the language instead of just listening to lessons. That's why I purchased the whole product.
As for issues with the software, I had a few minor ones. At first, I would either have audio, or I could record my voice, but not both. To resolve this, I had to completely reinstall my browser.
Response from Rocket Languages
Response from Rocket Languages: Thanks for pointing out the spacing issue when writing reviews. We will fix that asap! Also, it is possible to flag (from within the Tests) phrases like the example you give. We can then look into what is causing that
I think more emphasize should be placed in Hangul! Its the foundation of the language and everything is so jumbled. Consonant, vowels should be separated and thought differently. I learned by watch children videos of sing alongs in Hangul. Like they make it so simple there. Its ok I guess... It needs more material to be concise. But good program
I'm happy that this was my first exposure to American Sign Language (ASL). I now have an excellent foundation. I believe the lessons could cover a bit more subject matter to increase effectiveness but I believe the syllabus was well formulated.
I'm still on the first Level of German so far, but I am really enjoying the Rocket Languages methodology. I Hope to see some progress on my German during the next months. The price is very expensive but I think will worth it.
I was following several Arabic courses at the beginning and found out later that it is just waste of too much time if you do not have a well planned track for learning. Specially when I go through the rocket trial, I found that they way they deliver the course is best among I came across. It practices us to use the language instead of putting us on the difficult grammar and the science of the language. I believe directly diving in to the language will help us absorb, love and learn the language easily. I am on first module now. Hope it would help me to achieve a certain standard.
Rocket Languages is a huge help in my life of learning other languages. now I know four languages. so helpful. you need to learn at least one language. the guides are very helpful.###love French !! .......................................................................................................
Comprehensive lessons, each leaving you feeling accomplished and confident. Every lesson section can take 45 minute to listen to and complete. As such, each Rocket German level has easily hundreds of hours of content. Definitely worth the money if you're serious about learning a language.
The free trial version of Rocket Language is indeed awesome and it seems to be what I need to learn French. unfortunately I cannot afford it. However, I recommend it for anyone who wishes to learn French online. its indeed good.
Good! I am still working on it. Rocket Arabic is a good one and I love the interactive lesson. It helps us to pronounce the words in Arabic wich is sometimes difficult. Some of the Arabic words are very difficult to pronounce them. In this case, It is good to use the Rocket Arabic practice parts. Learning the vocabularies is also a key component of language learning and Rocket Arabic provides more than enough
I took 2 years of German in high school, it's always interested me so I kept coming back to it trying to learn more. I tried various free workshops online but they don't really give you an in depth experience. I'm pleasantly surprised with my rocket german experience. I do find some of the beginner levels easy because of my past education with some of the language in high school, but I do enjoy that it's not just audio, but that it's interactive as well. That definitely helps. I am more of a visual learner so I would recommend something more visually stimulating. I often write things down when listening to the audio so I can see the words as well as listen to them. Just listening to them doesn't really solidify it for me. I need to write it down and read it over. But the interactive lessons help with that.
