When the male speaker broke down the word for God slowly he pronounced it "AH LAH" and when he pronounced it fast he made the sound "A LAY". I don't understand why there is such a difference between the fast and slow versions. The Rocket Review portion of lesson 1.0 has words that were not covered in the lesson. Please help. Jeff

Hi Jeff, thanks for your post and welcome to the forum. I apologize for the confusion. The correct pronunciation of Kuwayyis, il 7amdulillah ends with "a lay". When Hany repeats the word slowly he sounds out every letter, which makes it sound slightly different. When you say the word, please make sure you say it the way we pronounce it when we say it at a natural speed. Thank you Amira

Hi Amira, As a rule for the course, should I not try to pronounce any words slowly but only at normal speed? I am trying to align myself with your intent on how you want us, your students, to respond to the lessons. Thank you for your response, Jeff

Hi Jeff, thanks for your reply. I would recommend to try and say the words at a natural speed. When Hany or I repeat words slowly you can of course try to follow along, just remember that some words do sound slightly different when said slowly. So I suggest listening to the slow version and copying the normal version. I hope that makes sense. How are you finding the quizzes? Have you tried them yet? All the best! Amira
