lesson 10.3

Could you please correct the Hotel name in the first line. It's neither Cannery nor Hilton:
坎纳酒店= ?? please help to correct the script or audio

Also there is a 当(dāng) 时(shí) crept in later in the lesson. It's not in either pin yin nor English. should it be there or not?

Kind regards
Howard

It should be Lesson 10.4. The adio version sounds like Hilton to me. Yes, "dang shi" is neither in the Pinyin nor the English translation. Think it means formerly or at that time. So the Chinese version is probably correct.

sorry yes 10.4 couldn't edit the title but what does 坎(kǎn) 纳(nà) 酒(jiǔ) 店(diàn) 宾(bīn) 馆(guǎn) really mean? doesn't sound like hilton to me, and both jiu dian and bin guan together? or is it Chinese for Hirtol?

Yes, I don't know why they have 酒店 and 宾馆 together. According to the dictionary 酒(jiǔ) 店(diàn) means a wineshop or a public house and 宾(bīn) 馆(guǎn) means a guesthouse or hotel.

My Chinese Script which I printed out on 22/2/2010 has the word cannery in English followed by 宾馆 in Chinese. There was no 酒(jiǔ) 店(diàn) then. it has since been amended to read 坎(kǎn) 纳(nà) 酒(jiǔ) 店(diàn) 宾(bīn) 馆(guǎn) all in Chinese. Not to worry. It is probably a Cannery Hotel with a Bar now. No, just joking. You have to ask Lin.

Cheers

Sometimes, when they translate the words to Hilton, I really believe the translation, the hotel they are talking about is Sheraton.

Please Rocket let us see that you exist! I see that other students are correcting leesons and answering questions. Let's have deinitive answers please. Does Dave, Lisa etc really still work for Rocket or were they just one hit wonders?
