Hi , I'm running through about 7 different chinese courses right now at around 4-8 hours a day (I started this a few months ago), i left off at 6.2 and need to pick it up again , I must say it really does stick in your brain ,when I first started Rocket Chinese 1 year ago , After ni hao , everything sounded *&^%$#@#$%^&* , but the last couple months i can comprehend 60% of daily fast spoken chinese , I can hold basic conversations (very basic), and i often run into the words from rocket chinese in my other courses , And I hear them when my wife is on the phone...this proves it sticks in the brain even after a year, also I learned the right daily vocab for a strong foundation. And "NO" my wife doesn't teach me chinese, thats why I bought the course , and glad i did. I almost wept when I found out that premuim+ doesn't have "mega audio 2" with longer sentences , That would be a great addition to my collection , but for now mega audio 1 is fun enough inhale a few minutes a day from me. what about you?

Honestly , started learning mandarin 4 years ago using just word lists about 10 minutes a week. (absolutely useless) , I forgot everything....plus no sentence structure . no drills , no reviews , NO EFFORT , A total waste of time... My wife isn't teaching me because we would both got frustrated as I struggled (after 3 years), I would tell her to slow down as she would say 1 little 4 word sentence over and over and over and over and over again, and I still couldn't say it properly (sigh) , But today I was talking in mandarin to 3 different chinese people over the phone. And they were absolute beginner's in english , so it was in 70% chinese ,One lady even told to me my chinese was excellent "in chinese of course" (the day I stop hearing "that" is the day It could be true.) ,Any way she didn't speak english so it was almost all chinese for about 20 minutes.,,,,, (wheeping break),,,,,, OK , I'm NOT focused on reading or writing characters , just spoken chinese and reading pinyin. Rocket chinese 1 gave me courage, Because I saw the results VERY FAST , and found out WOW , i'm not stupid after all , I just needed the right teacher, the right pace , the addictive mega audio/vocab game , and DAILY DILIGENCE..... Has any one finished the course yet? I did a quick review of the past lessons , and i'm on 6.3 today.....how far are you??
