Use of liange

Hi - I've just started the course and got to quiz 1.9.1 where one of the questions asked was for a translation of There are two people in the room. I gave the wrong answer but as I hadn't seen any reference to the word liangge up to that point it made me wonder why use that word instead of say erge

Hello Andy N. You are right reasoning when you put down erge as answer. But the fact is we (Chinese speakers) are accustomed to use liange, as in any language I assume, it is just one of unreasonalbe traditions. Love your question. Keep on asking more.

i have a Besta mandarin talk mt-7000. Touch screen, good dictionaries, example sentences galore... no currency calculator though. where will you go reginald?
