Colors /yánsè/

I have a conflict between my dictionary and the MegaAudio program. It's because of the colors. Basically there are three issues:

1) ORANGE( the color, adjective). In everyplace that I looked it up..it's said
橙 色/chéngsè/. But in your program they said something diferent that I cannot find anywhere.

2) In other software for learning colors in Chinese the 'light' is represented by /dàn/ [colour] 淡 的 [dàn de] As well in all my Chinese dictionaries. However, your program use another character different /tián/ or something like that...like tiánlánsè-->Light blue.

3)4) Less important are these two.. because I guess both ways are possible to say.

Gold-> option 1: jinsè option 2: jinhuángsè
Pink-> option 1: fênsè option 2: fênhóngsè

That's all, xiè xiè!

Hi there,

1. There are two Chinese words for the color ORANGE. We can either say chengse as you have found in your dictionaries, or jinhuangse, which is more colloquial and literally means "golden yellow".

2. The word used for referring to light color in our program is "qiǎn", which is another alternative to "dan". You can either say danlanse or qianlanse to refer to "light blue". It just depends on your preference.

3. The second option you listed as the translation for gold is what I mentioned in the answer to your first question above. It is used to refer to the color more like orange instead of gold. For "gold". jinse is the translation.
fense and fenhongse are both right if you want to talk about pink color.

I hope that helps.
