http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php This site is great for anyone with an interest in Chinese. It has the means of typing Pinyin with tones very easy. Nǐmen hǎo, Wǒ jiào Barry. Wǒ yě xiǎng yòng Pīnyīn jīngcháng. Rúguǒ wǒmen nǔlì wǒmende Hányǔ yīdìng gǎiliáng. You can also very easily identify the word, English or Chinese, and see the tones and the character.

Hi Clint, There are several ways to type Pinyin with the tone marks shown. One is with http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php and another, one I would suggest, is "Pinyinput" just do a Google search and you will get a Pinyinput download. It is very easy to use. If you have the MDGB translator on one page and "word" on the other page, you can check the tones on the MDGB page then type them in "word" using the Pinyinput. Of course then you can copy and paste to this site or whatever you wish. Hope that helps.

Why does no one use MS Word Ruby Text for converting chinese to include pin yin and tone marks. It seems to be a hidden secret LOL. Also available in Star Office too. However they are NOT cross compatable. You need to play around with the font-u-like best. BUT BUT remember to select the language as Chinese PRC otherwise strange results Inlcuding bopomofu from Taiwan is shown Howard

I didn't know about Ruby until just last semester while studying Chinese at Tsinghua University 清华大学. One of my professors would always use Ruby text to insert pinyin in our supplementary vocab word files. It's definitely a very good find and I have used it ever since then.
