Does anyone know where I can get a list of the most commonly used Chinese verbs? I'm living in China right now as an English teacher. I've been here about 6 months and my biggest problem is just not having the vocabulary to speak. Thanks!

Tony, Geez, if you're in China and don't know Chinese vocabulary than you do have problems. My issue isn't vocabulary but structure of sentences and pronunciation. To swim, run, walk, drive, love, think, read, talk, ride and watch are just words in a dictionary. Putting them together with connectors, nouns, adjectives, pronouns, measure words, etc is the hard part. I probably have a vocabulary of 1000 chinese words but what good is it if I can point at a tree and say "shoe"? Look forward to someone actually knowledgeable in Chinese answering your question. The only website I've seen with a list of commonly used verbs is Zap Chinese. Its rather small though. Its so tough to learn Chinese by yourself. At least you're around a bunch of Chinese people. I would have loved to go to the World Expo in China but I do not feel comfortable going to a place without knowing the language, Not just pointing at objects and naming them- ha,ha,ha.I should have took up Spanish because I live in Southern California. Regards
