I learnt that "et toi" means "and you"...My question is why is it not "et tu" or "et vous"...where does "toi" come from?

Hi Setaki, Great question! 'Tu' is used as the subject of a verb. In other words, the second person - you - are completing the action. As we see in 'Comment vas tu?' 'Toi' is used when an object of a verb. The second person in this case, is receiving the action. As you pointed out, this is seen in 'Et toi?' I hope this helps. :) Marie-Claire

Bonjour à tous! I am very happy that you are looking forward to our courses Marlene! Salut Phyllis! Where did you find this sentence? It means "are you at home?" however, I would write it simply like this, "Es-tu à la maison?" or "Est-ce que tu es chez toi?" I hope this helps! À bientôt, - Marie-Claire
