salut tout le monde....
i need help in something....
i have few questions while i'm still learning french in French Rocket if any one knows the answer and how to explaine to me please tell me the answer of my questions ok.....

why we say ( du fromage ) and dont say du le fromage ???
while we say (de la confiture )....
both of them ends with a vowel and i know that the first is masculine and the second is femenine .....
is it because we can't use ( du) with the articles (le and la)?????
please any help and i will be thankfull

a bientôt

i have another question ^_^

is the meaning of (route) the same of meaning of (rue)

sur la route = on the rood
dans la rue =in the street

is my translation right ????if its not then what is the differences between these two words
thank you

du is the contraction of de + le (masc) so we don't need the extra le after du.
de + la (fem) doesn't contract so it just stays "de la"
