i think bonjour is preferable in the morning but salut in any time even it was morning you can say it ^_^ i just think that and i see it should be like this>>

Bonjour!
Bonjour is used as a general greeting to those you know or may not know.
Salut is used for people that you already know and are familiar with.
Allo is used solely when you answer the phone.
