Ciao Fran, Lui ha due figlie (feminine, plural) e un figlio mentre io ho un figlio. (He has two daughters and a son while I've a son). In Italian the subjective can be omitted most of the time therefore you can either say "io ho" or just "ho". Buona giornata anche a te! (have a good day too) Ciao

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but I am curious. This is the first day and I am only on a trial run. If we complete the entire Rocket Italian program, (I assume that is through Level 7), how comfortable should we be with the language then? Well enough to survive as a tourist with basic conservation or good enough to converse with Italian speakers at a dinner party, at a job etc.? Grazie!

This might be a stupid question but I am just really starting out learning Italiano. English is my native language. But in Italiano would my name be spelled/pronounced differently? It is Teresa and I also go by Rese. Or would I, when introducing myself just use the Americano pronunciation?

Ciao Teresa I'm not sure how you pronounce Teresa in americano, in England we pronounce it Ter- the e as in earn, and -resa the e as in tree. In italiano it would be spelt the same but pronounced as, Ter- the e as in egg, and -resa the e like an a in ray. I hope this hasn't confused you. ciao Graham, it is correct. Teresa is also an italian name but you have to remember that Italian is a phonetic language so you pronounce the letters as you write them. Example i = e. Buon divertimento Ciao
