Ciao everyone I am quite confused about "indirect pronouns". Can I say mi, ti, ci, gli etc are used informally? Annie

Ciao Annie, here below a quick tabel of the Indirect Object Pronouns in English and Italian : to me = mi to you = ti to him = gli to her = le to it = gli (masculine) or le (feminine) to us = ci to you (all) = vi to them = gli (masculine or feminine) So the "indirect pronouns" are those pronouns that answer to the question: "to whom?' or "to whom?". Example: La nonna ha telefonato a sua nipote = the grandmother has phoned her niece adding the pronouns the sentence will become La nonna le ha telefonato = the grandmother has phoned her Please note that in Italian you will need to add the preposition "a" (to) in front of the pronoun when indirect objects are a person or thing. Few more examples: -Roberto mi ha spedito una cartolina dall'Italia (Roberto has sent me a postcard from Italy) -Lui ti ha regalato dei fiori bellissimi (he has bought you some beautiful flowers) -Lei vi ha cucinato le lasagne per cena (She has cooked you all lasagne for dinner) I hope this help.
