"Quel" and "quello" mean the same thing, "that" and are used in front of masculine nouns. quel gatto - that cat "Quello" is used in front of masculine nouns starting with s followed by a consonant, or nouns starting with a z Quello studente - that student Quello scandalo - that scandal
