Hi! i have some trouble with saving notepad with japanese character, it wont save or it types the text into the file name somehow, i tried too change it too utf-8 but still won't work, any ideas how to fix this, becuase i really dont want too write in romaji. Best Regards: Robin

did you try saving it in Unicode format ? That should do the trick, otherwise it won't work with other formats. As I know, UNICODE is the only encoding that let's you save the file with kana and kanji or characters like: ă î ț ș â (those are in my native language: Romanian) or anything else that does not appear on a normal qwerty keyboard.

no sadly encode doesnt work either, it wont save. if i succed in saving in unicode it only saves what i wrote in the name file but not inside the document.

this is a really odd one. It should work for the content of the document too. Look, this is a link to a file made by me in which I wrote sth in Japanese: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20491527/test.txt To open it, right click on the link and hit "save target as..." or else your browser will open it instead of downloading it and trying to open with notepad. If you can't read it's content (written in Japanese and has both kana and kanji), then there is a problem with your notepad or OS.

i can read Japanese in files and on the web but i cant write and save it on my computer somehow.

Hi Robin. It will not work in notepad for me either. It does work in wordpad. Good luck.
