Hello everyone
I would like to put our Japanese in use here.
Let's create a topic and write down something preferably in kana.
You can write about yourself, ask questions to other people's replies and correct any mistakes you see (at least for my posts I'd be grateful for correction).
And it would be really wonderful if Sayaka join in and tell us about herself as well ;)

I shall answer your question: because many of us are still only on the first stage and don't know many kanji characters. That's all I have to say :). I wanted to write this in Japanese too, but my vocab isn't big enough and I still don't know the structure of sentences very well.

Derek-san, I guess you can write in kanji if you don't mind duplicate it in kana. This way you can practice kanji and other people would be able to understand you :0)

This is fantastic Japanese! Sugoi! Just a few minor corrections...
1. ろしあじんです (I am Russian) this is correct - however, the ろしあ (Russia) part is usually written in KATAKANA - so, it would be ロシアじんです。
2. にじゅきゅさい - this is tricky, but you are missing the うs in both にじゅ and きゅ。The correct words are にじゅう(twenty) きゅう(nine)
3. きょし - here again, it should be きょうし to say "teacher"
Otherwise, it's great!

I didn't know that after writing in katakana, the "jin" is written in hiragana. Same goes with "go".

Japanese as a adjective is simply Nihon、日本、にほん。Use the particle の "no" to denote ownership.
Eg. それは日本（にほん）の漫画（まんが）です。That's a Japanese manga.

First and Second sentence is excellent. Third sentence- I can understand what you are saying but more correctly - you can say:
バルバドスにすまいますでもイギリス人です。-->
バルバドスにすんでいますがイギリス人です。
And for the last sentence as well - just one minor point
にほんのテレビゲームがだいすきですから、にほんごがべんきょうしてはじめました。-->
にほんのテレビゲームがだいすきですから、にほんごをべんきょうしはじめました。

すごい、皆（みんな）結構（けっこう）書（か）いたんですね！
昨日（きのう）、初（はじ）めて漫画（まんが）を日本語（にほんご）に読（よ）んでいました。本当（ほんとう）にこんなにいっぱい漢字（かんじ）読（よ）める事（こと）が分（わ）かりませんでした。少（すこ）しわくわくしていたね。明日（あした）から、本物（ほんもの）の本（ほん）を読（よ）んで頑張（がんば）ります。
皆（みんな）も結構（けっこう）漢字（かんじ）を練習（れんしゅう）したら、漢字（かんじ）を読（よ）みや すくなるぜ！
頑張（がんば）りましょう！

＠パスカルさん、みつけたよ！ありごあとうございました！but the quality isn't very good...I just can't read the furigana...it's too small and the quality is too low for a good close-up of the image. I'll keep searching (sorry for writing in English, I'm on a hurry unfortunately and don't have time to think in Japanese :D)
＠ハナさん(Hana-san)、you don't need special software. If you are using Windows OS, then you can find some settings at: control panel->language and regional settings->keyboard tab->language. There you can find the Japanese language, but there are more than one choice. The one that is for writing is the: MICROSOFT IME...so just add that one to the languages that you already have selected there (eg. English) and just switch between them with: alt+shift.
Just be sure to select the hiragana there after switching to it, because it's on romanji by default.

Just be sure to select the hiragana there after switching to it, because it's on romanji by default.
After selecting the MICROSOFT IME and setting it to Hiragana, you just start writing in romanji and the IME will automatically turn the syllables into Japanese characters.

If you're using a mac, just add hiragana, romaji, and katakana input sources under language and text in system preferences. You can switch between them from the toolbar.

Just a small correction there for @Silverice:
line 2 -> にほんご を べんきょう に は たにしい です。
The used particle to mark topics is the hiragana for "HA", which is read as "WA" in this situation.

anata ga totemo daisuki. Or for an even more profound meaning: anata ga totemo aishiteru (aishite imasu).
Or the simplest way: aishiteru yo !
There are many ways of saying "I love you", but these are the ones with the strongest meaning.

Just a point to @Pan v and @コッド
Suki/Daisuki mean like/like a lot when referring to inanimate objects. However, you'll find that "suki" has a more romantic tone. // Kimi no koto ga suki.
Conversely, you'll find that "aisuru" is rarely used; it is a direct translation of "to love" and because of Japanese cultural differences, it is not used much.
...failing that , you could also use "rabu suru".
Just make sure you use the correct kanji when writing "ai", else you could end up indigoing someone. （藍 and 愛 are read as あい）
