Hi. I am new to this forum. I will be visiting Japan for a course in June. I want to be polite to my sensei when I meet him. Was wondering if someone could please help me translate the following?: 1. "after you kindly allowed me to visit your center, i started learning Japanese" 2. "my Japanese is not good, please be patient with me, & correct me if I am wrong" 3. "sorry to impose on you & your colleagues" 4. "thank you for teaching me" 5. if i get complemented, how do i say, "you are very kind. I have much to learn" 6. "some day, please visit my country. I will take care of you & your family" 7. "my friend taught me Japanese" Sorry, I know it's a lot to ask, but I'm a total beginner at this & the place I am visiting is quite off the beaten track - I suspect there won't be too many English-speakers there. Thanks very much!! John

I'm not that of an expert on formal Japanese, but I hope these will help you: 1.) Sensei no centa- wo gohaiken ni sasete itadaita ato wa, nihongo no benyou wo hajimemashita. (I don't quite understand the context. You started to learn japanese after he ALLOWED you to visit his center, or after you HAVE ACTUALLY VISITED the center ?) 2.) Watakusi no nihongo wa jouzu ja arimasenga, yoroshiku onegai shimasu. (Side note: It's not that of a good idea to say: please correct me if I am wrong. It it understood from the initial sentence). 3.) Watakushi wa mada mada keiken no asai mono desu. 6.) (I'm not really sure if the second part is quite correct or better said, I'm not sure if it's formal) 7.) Yuujin ga watashi ni nihongo wo oshiete kuremashita.

Oh, Sensei is a bit too much for me :), I'm just another Japanese enthusiast that can be found anywhere on the internet... If that's the case, then the first sentence that I wrote is correct :D. Glad it helped
