I have been drinking a wine  from Argentina called Tango del Sur.  On the container is the phrase " Vino de mesa abocado"

When I looked up that word I get "doomed" or " destined to fail"  This seems an odd advertising slogan.  Can someone give a better translation?

BTW, it is a great white wine at less than $3.00 US a litre here in Uruguay.

Vino de mesa is table wine - but of course, one would already know that from the price...

Vino abocado - I had to look this one up. This refers to the type of wine (my guess would be generally semi-sweet but there are additional adjectives here that I don't even understand in English).

Calificativo que se aplica a los vinos blancos dulces que contienen azúcares naturales residuales (restos entre 5 y 15 gr./litro) pero menos azucarados que los licorosos propiamente dichos. También recibe este nombre la degustación de un vino en el que la untuosidad domina a la acidez, aunque sea seco.
