in lesson 4.5 que se le ofrece is translated as [what can i offer you] but in looking up translation of words it seems that they are saying [ what is you offer ] someone please explain

Hola! This is a tricky one... Literally the expression "¿Que se le ofrece?" says "What it is offered to you?"...or "what do you demand/need/require?" . This is a little bit difficult to explain, but im gonna try..."ofrecer" means "to give or to offer" and when you ask "¿que se le ofrece?" you are asking the person what she needs you to offer him or her...so it is kind of a "reverse" question (i dont know if that exists of not hahah)...but well ,the point is: You need to remember that trying to translate word by word can sometimes bring you trouble. In a few words, "que se le ofrece?" is the formal way of saying to someone "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" or "What can i offer you?"... I hope this helps you!... Saludos desde Mexico!
