Can we have a section on writing please?

Salut Marie-Claire

Do you think it's possible for you to open a section on Essay Writing for those who are keen to practice writing a given topic in French? If you can suggest some topics we can start practising writing in French. In case we make a mistake, we can have an English translation to the text and you can help us correct it.

I got this idea from the Babbel website. The only issue with that website is that the correction is made by the community members so it means that e may be grammatically wrong at times.

What's your view on this?

Salut jmoi,

Thank you for the suggestion. I think this is a good idea! I will pass it on to our Product Development team as they're the ones who make all the big decisions. This may be something we decide to incorporate in the future!

Merci!

Merci beaucoup Marie-Claire pour ma respondez. Glad you liked my suggestion and hope your Product Development team would find it worthwhile to work on as well.

If possible, please have your Product Development look at the Babbel website. They have many interesting features. The only thing that they lack, which is why I decided on joining Rocket French and paying for the course (while I can get it free on Babbel) is because you have a structure, quizzes at the end of each lessons as well as final test and certificate at each level including committed feedback by someone like you. I find all these extremely useful. Giving us cultural info here and there and varied discussion boards to post our questions with reliable feedback from Rocket French helps make the learning easier as we then know that we are being taught how to use the language correctly.

The other idea that I like in Babbel which I think you can also incorporate into your learning is the ability for learners to record their short passages back to you for pronunciation correction. We can hear and try to imitate how you and Paul speak but we never know if we are really sounding it correctly until we hear our own voice. When reading a new passage, we could be blabbing through in our own French way.

I think your writing and audio function could be optional features unless everyone finds it useful.

Look forward to seeing how or what Product Development is going to come up with next.
