Hey, I was just wondering whether anybody had become more or less fluent in French after using this programme, or was at least able to hold conversation for long periods of time on any given topic. Thanks!

Salut! I used Rocket French before traveling to Paris last (European) summer. I went with my wife and wee 1 year old boy for 6 weeks. On the hour long drive into Paris from Charles De Gaulle airport the shuttle driver and I conversed the whole way in. Admittedly it was a little stilted on my part to start with, but he spoke very little English and he understood my French perfectly well. Within 3-5 days of being in Paris I was quite comfortable ordering things, asking directions, etc. IMHO the trick is to try to speak it as much as possible. Holding 'long' conversations was difficult in Paris as most interaction with locals involves ordering and directions as above. Nevertheless when we spent a week down in Toulouse and stayed at some maison d'hotes and had wines and coffees with the owners and French tourists my conversational French improved greatly. So I suppose Rocket French provided the building blocks of the language and gave me the confidence to have a go at speaking French. Once those two factors are in place then the only way is up! Amicalement
