LeRobert Correcteur

Hello, Today I noticed that http://www.lerobert.com/correcteur/demo.php Has anybody tried this software? It's the same price as Antidote for the PC ($99) and seems to have the same features. I like Antidote and have been using it for a couple years now: http://www.antidote.info/ Here are a review if you are looking for advice. All in French and easy to understand. http://www.cuk.ch/articles/9778 From the comments it seems many people need an English version of Antidote, but it's only French. They would like to see something supporting corrections in multiple languages because they have to work half of the time in English and half of the time in French. Another, much simpler, comparison: http://www.macg.co/logiciels/2014/07/le-petit-prolexis-devient-le-robert-correcteur-83032 Best Regards, Jason

Argh, I couldn't get Le Robert to work on a mac (running Yosemite) even though it says it's compatible. Maybe, it's a US vs. European licensing/software build thing. I had high hopes for getting more convenient locutions like their hardcopy dictionary. :(

Yeah, well a dictionary is a different subject. The correctors are sort of grammar guides although Antidote is a do it all Dictionary/Thesaurus/Corrector. For a dictionary, at least on the mac, we have a built in dictionary that is really good. Right-click on any word and click Look up in Dictionary. It will find it in any Language. I forget how I set it up but you can find a way to install as many languages as you like and they work the same on iOS devices also. For French and German I have no problems just using the built-in dictionaries to understand words. Maybe have a look at the app store on the mac and see what you find. Perhaps that will avoid the installation problems you experienced. However, for 195 Euro, I would hope their big electronic dictionary would install right. Lot of money lost if it doesn't.
