hello anyone I am a total beginer in french the course looks very interesting.I seem to be able to translate the the french words to english quite well but when you take that away and get someone to ask you in english for me to answer in french becomes very difficult the brain seems to freeze.dont know if this is common or just me anyway bye for now.

yes, that is absolutely normal.
Your passive language skills are usually much stronger.
Passive means that you can understand a lot more when people talk and pick up words and meanings, but if you have to say it yourself (active language) it's much harder.
It's very normal and part of learning.
The difference between what you can understand and what you can say will always be there, even for native speakers (!) but it will get less significant.

Hi Andy
This is Joyce and I am new to Rocket French as well. If written French is something that you would like to work on, I would recommend that get into the discussion board titled 'Welcome to Rocket French' and locate for the section 'Need a study partner'. Over there, we try to communicate in French. However, for old brains like me, I tend to include the English version of what I want to say as well in case I mess up the beautiful French language :lol:
Depending on your time zone, I am sure you will be able to get on to do a skype chat with some of the members there to have conversations in French.
