Salut Marie ma'am I don't get that the pronunciation of "r" how much ever i try. Sometimes it sounds to me that "r" is not pronounced at all like in "tres". Sometimes a very peculiar pronunciation of "r" in "apprendre". What should i do?

Salut à tous. the letter "r" is the most difficult letter to pronounce for non-French speakers . As there is not similar sound in English,it's very important to listen to the audio and repeat it. I can suggest to try opening your mouth, close your throat and pronounce the letter K. I hope this helps ! :)

I have enjoyed the audio series immensely and I'm almost ready to purchase the Intermediate Series of lessons. However, I know that I do not pronounce the French "r" correctly. Are there any "r" drills that one can practice please? Merci, GayLynn

Can you please advise how to pronounce "shi" or 10, especially where to place the tongue?  Is there a similar word in English?

Thanks

Anita
