translation problem

Lesson 12.2 making a complaint, we are given this expression (en la mettant) should it not be en la mettant sur.

Bonjour Philip!

The French in this instance is correct. It would only be "en la mettant sur" if the verb was to be followed by an object. The verb "mettre" means 'to put on' and the verb intrinsically encompasses the word 'on' and therefore is not needed.
