Hi there, yes, you are absolutely right. "car" means "because". Enjoy the course! :D

if that is the case, would there be any difference with 'parce que' ? can both of these words be used interchangeably?

Hi again, "Car" and "because" have a subtle difference. "Car" expresses a justification or explanation whereas "parce que" is mainly " because", the cause. "Car" is also a bit more formal in terms of language and comes across more in written French. :D
