Hello, I've read through all the questions regarding the microphone not working and my issue is still unresolved. I'm using microsoft 7, google chrome browser, adobe flash player is up to date, all is set up to allow for this website and the microphone does in fact work. Yet, when I hit the record button in practice nothing seems to record. That is, when I playback what I supposedly recorded there is nothing there. Please help, as all the answers I've found on this forum have yet to solve the problem. Thanks.

Hi there, thank you for contacting us. My apologies for any inconvenience caused. It sounds as though Flash does not recognize your microphone. I recommend that you try the course using a different web browser (Firefox or Internet Explorer) to see if that helps. To check the flash/mic settings, please play some audio, then right click in the Rocket Record area and select Settings. Go to the mic tab and make sure that your mic has been selected from the drop down list. If the other browsers don't work, you might like to try disabling Chrome's Flash Plugin so that it relies on the external version of Flash. Got it working on IE, but not on Chrome. Still can't drag the waveform, though. Where is the FAQ?

I've just had the same problem Started off working OK in chrome and then just stopped Switched to explorer and now works fine

Hi Tony, Thanks for your post and for letting us know. I'm happy to hear that things are working well in IE. The problem occurs when there are incompatibilities between the browser you are using, and your version of Flashplayer. Making sure everything is updated, or trying a different browser usually solves the problem. We are hoping to move away from using Flash in the not-too-distant future to try and avoid these kinds of issues. I hope that helps!

The microphone works for one iteration, then quits. iPod touch, ios 11.4, Google Chrome.

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand  HOW you are “working with” me. Could you explain? Speech recognition in the app remains at an unacceptable level, and Google no longer permits sound recording. Thanks.

Hi PeggyP, 

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with the recording feature; when on a mobile device, like your iPad, we recommend using our free app, which you can download from the App Store; the name of the app is Rocket Languages. Once the app is downloaded, you'll be able to record and get feedback.

If you open the course on a desktop/laptop, we recommend using an updated version of Google Chrome in order to be able to record and get feedback.

Just to add when I use my iPhone it likes it better if I am in a silent room with no ambient noise as it picks up recordings opposed to being somewhere where you can hear the hum of a fan or air conditioner or near a road with cars driving by. It does not like noise and will not pick up the recording.

My Rocket Record has also stopped.  I'm using the latest version of Chrome.  Usually, if I restart the computer, that takes care of the record problem, but not this time.  Please help.

Never mind.  I reinstalled Chrome and now the Rocket Record works!  Thanks for the help you would have given me.
