Hi Donald, the song title is "Dear Lord, let the sun shine again". The lyrics are: Lieber Gott, lass die Sonne wieder scheinen, für Mama, für Papa und für mich! Alle Kinder die großen und die kleinen, haben Sehnsucht nach Sonne wie ich. Wenn die Wolken, die grauen wieder weinen, ja dann wein bestimmt auch ich. Lieber Gott, lass die Sonne wieder scheinen, für Mama, für Papa und für mich! Dear Lord, let the sun shine again, for my mum, my dad and me! All children, the small ones and the big ones, are longing for the sun, just like me. When the clouds, the grey ones, cry again, then I will cry as well. Dear Lord, let the sun shine again, for my mum, my dad and me! "grauen" by itself means "to be fearful", but "grau" also means grey. "Die grauen" means "the grey ones". Crying clouds is a metaphor for rain. It's a lovely song, isn't it. :D

Don't quite know what happened to my earlier attempt to post a response to you. This is truly a very beautiful song; I can't fully express my gratitude to you for giving me the full lyrics in German, and the English translation as well. This was more that I could ever have hoped for. I prevously would sing the German lyrics, pretending that I understood them, now I do.
