After dabbling in German off and on for years, finally, this course has given me the confidence to want to speak a few sentences before conceding that Ich spreche nur ein bisschen Deutsch. Next month I will be attending a wedding in Dusseldorf. Would you have any suggestions for simple sentences to exchange with other wedding guests? Would something like "Wie (or wie lange) haben sie das Hochzeitspaar kennengelernt?" be appropriate, or " Sind Sie eine Freundin (or ein Freund) der Braut oder des Brautigam?" and then if someone asks me, is the following correct: "Der Mutter des Brautigan (Arthur) war veile Jahre meine beste Freundin. Sie und ihre Mann and mein Mann und Ich haben oft Urlaub mitgemacht. Arthur hat uns viel oft in New York besucht, die letzte Zeit mit Julie (die Braut)." And if I want to say that I've been to Germany four times, do I say, "Ich habe Deutschland viermal besucht." I know how to say that I'd like to learn German--it's in the course!
