Hi there, I couldn't find your exact example, only "Das Museum ist geschlossen" and "Aber heute ist es geschlossen". Using both "es" and "Museum" is doubling up, it's like saying "The museum, it is closed" Grammatically this is fine and you might use it to emphasize the fact that the museum is closed and not the movie theater, but it does sound stilted. So you can say: Es ist geschlossen - It is closed Ist es geschlossen? - It is closed? Das Museum ist geschlossen - the museum is closed I hope that makes sense. Hey ! I had the same problem with the structure of this phrase. The example given is : "Ja, haber heute IST ES geschlossen". To me, it would make more sense if it was "Ja, aber heute ES IST geschlossen". It seems to be the two words avec been interchanged. Danke !
