In the printed conversation the word "fahren." appears, but there is no mention or explanation of this word in the audio. Can you please explain?

It is explained further in the next chapter.. fahren means to drive, but it's used in so many other ways than we would use it in English..

Why would fahren not be used in the conversation? I would read the statement as "I must to the Hotel." Isn't "fahren" needed?

Actually, it is not needed. There was a thread on this topic earlier, but I'm not sure where it is. It goes back several years.
