How do you say- "I'm just looking, thanks." This is a useful phrase when you enter a store in Germany but don't want to buy anything and the shop clerk comes over to you asking if you need help.

nein danke, Ich schaue nur um. or Ich bin bloß mal schauen. This is not perfect German, but they always understand me and are polite.

Hello Mxyloreda, Clifford and Mitschuler, Sorry for late reply. I usally say "Ich schaue erstmal" or "Danke, ich sehe/schaue mich nur um". "Ich bin bloß mal schauen" is also correct. I wouldn't recommend Google translater. dict.leo.org is a good online dictionary. Hope that helps! Paul
