In past indefinite (saamaanya bhoothkaal), present perfect (aasanna bhootha kaal), doubtful past (saMdhigDha bhootha kaal) and past perfect (poorNa bhootha kaal)tenses, if the verb is transitive, the suffix "ne" should be added with the subject. If the suffix is added with the subject, the verb will end according to the object. If the "ko" suffix is added with the object, the verb will be in masculine gender. Some examples babu ne khaayaa = babu ate ( babu is a boy) leela ne khaayaa = leelaa ate (leela is a girl ) In the above two sentences, the verb ended in masculine as "ne" is added. babu ne ek aam _khaayaa_ = babu ate one mango babu ne dho aam *khaay*e = babu ate two mangoes Take these two sentences. When the object was singular, the verb ended in singular (khaayaa). When object changed to plural, the verb too has changed accordingly. babu ne ek aam ko khaayaa = babu ate one mango babu ne dho aak ko khayaa = babu ate two mangoes When "ko" suffix is added to the object , the verb always ended masculine singular.
