Love

I really enjoy that Hindi has so many words for love...

But can someone explain the difference between prem, pyaar, ishq, and mohabbat?

I got this explaination from a young Hindi lady that I work with...

ishq = young love...
mohabbat = poetic love
pyaar = real love
prem = ??

Hope this makes sense to you...

Prem I believe is the more sanskritised version. For instance: Krishna Prem= Love for Krishna. Ishq and mohabbat are I believe from the Persian or Arabic.
