Ciao. Una domanda e' buona. _Andata_ is a noun, in this case a feminine singular noun. Like all Italian nouns, they are either masculine or feminine. So _andata_ is feminine singular, and _ritorno_ is masculine singular. The words both come from their respective verbs: _Andare_ is the verb - "to go." _Ritornare_ - means "to return." Va bene? Ciao!
