conoscerti??

Hi.

Saw someone else who had a problem with this word. I went through lots of verb conjugations looking for this and couldn't find it. What verb is it really derived from? It was being used as "pleased to meet you" with "piacere di conoscerti". I found it one place as "second-person singular infinitive of conoscersi". So what is conoscersi, a verb?? What about the "are, ere, ire" ending that it doesn't have?

Ciao Bryan,

the expression "piacere di conoscerti" means "pleased to meet you".
"Conoscerti" is the union of the verb "conoscere" ("to know") + pronoun "te" ('you") and it's the translation of "to meet you"/"to know you".
Please get confused with "conoscersi", a verb which means to meet/to know each other.

Example:
Io e Roberto ci conosciamo da un anno = Roberto and I know each other since a year.

I hope this helps.
Ciao
