In Grammatica I, it says: LORO = YOU (plural, formal) The problem is that I have a couple of English/Italian dictionaries, and they both shay the following: VOI = YOU (plural, both formal and casual) LORO = THEM, THEY Which one is correct? Another question: Can I use LA RIGRAZIO for both male and female? Or should I say, LO REGRAZIO to a man? One more: Do you say LLI everywhere you find the letters GLI? Like, MEGLIO for example. Here the explanation: 1 - LORO vs. YOU = LORO is the translation of THEY or THEM. VOI means YOU as "you all " (direct to a group of people-formal and informal way) If you want to direct a question to someone you don't know (single person), you will use LEI . If you have found LORO translated as YOU in one of our lessons, please let me know so we can correct it immediately. 2- If you want to say "I thank you" in a polite way the correct way is LA RINGRAZIO for both genders. "LO RINGRAZIO" has a different meaning .Literally it's "I THANK HIM" as LO stays for A LUI 3-The pronunciation of "gli" must be pronounced most of the time as LLI but remeber that there are some exceptions! I am not sure where to post my question, but here goes.... The formal you (singular) is Lei + the third person singular for the verb eg: Lei mangia bene ogni giorno. = You (singular) eat well every day. What is the correct formal you (plural)...... according to what I have learnt before it is Loro + the third person plural of the verb eg: Loro mangiano bene ogni giorno. = You(all) eat well every day However on page 13 of GREETINGS in your manual you have said that the formal you is Voi (ie: voi with a capital "V") please tell me if this is a typo or it is right, molte grazie, ROCKY

In Italian we have 2 ways to express the plural of the formal "you" : -using "Voi" (the most common ) Example (a teller asking to Mr. and Mrs. Rossi): Avete voi una carta di credito? - Have you got a credit card? -using "Loro" (VERY formal and I'd say old fashioned too) Example : Loro vanno?
