What part of speech is 'chiamala'?

Mi scusi, ma non posso domindare questa in italiano. C'è troppo complicata per mi. In lesson 5.3 there is the sentence ' Non essere così timido. Chiamala.' I assume that chiamala is imperative of chiamare but it doesn't match the conjugation of regular '-are' verbs. Is it a special form and does that potentially apply to other similar verbs?

Ho appena trovato la soluzione alla mia questione in lezione 6.2 - c'è come 'non bruccarla'. Bisogna aggiungiere '-la' per indicare the object pronoun as in 'call her'.

Ciao Alice, you are correct. the word "chiamala" is the union of the imperative of the verb "chiamare" + the pronoun "la" (her). Ciao

can pronouns be added on the ends of verbs when the verb is not in the imperative, per esempio , puo diremi , invece di , mi puo dire? or is that bad grammar?

Doug, I believe that pronouns can be added to infinitive verbs. The stem stays the same, you just drop the 'e' and add the pronoun. Puo dimmi? Mi puo dire, would also work I think.

Ciao a tutti, the pronoun can be attached to a verb when : -using the "imperative" form = chiamala! -using the "infinitive"verb = puoi chiamarla (same as "puoi dirmi") -using the "-ing" form = guardandolo, non potrai mai saperne il sapore. The sentence "puoi dimmi" in incorrect. I hope this helps. Ciao
