How can i greet my relatives in italy, using italian language?

Because they are your relatives even if you have never met them..
So : Ciao, friendly form for hello/goodbye,for friends, relatives and children.
If you are writing them a letter/postcard/email, you could start with:
Dear- Caro/a. and you could end it with: Saluti affettuosi / cari saluti.
