"never better", literally : never=mai, better= meglio.
In Italian often another verb is added to these 2 words, according to the context and meaning.
For example as a reply to: How are you? - Come stai?
"Mai stato/a meglio or mai stato/a cosi' bene! - I have never been better!
" Mai dormito meglio! - I 've never slept so well!
"Mai mangiato cosi' bene! - I've never eaten better (so well)!
