Hello everyone, I've come to know that one of the best ways to get better at any given language is to sing their songs (cantare le loro canzoni! =) ).. So I tried to do that next to the Rocket Italian courses, just to take note of the pronunciation of some of the same words in different settings and sentences.. up till now its been great! my only problem is that i dont know enough Italian singers, I got Laura Pausini off of wikipedia.. so does anyone know any female Italian singers? (no sexism intended, its just that female voices have higher pitches and frequencies than males do, and that makes it a lot easier to identify separate words when they're singing so fast =) ) I've also found a website called http://www.lyricstranslate.com that has quite a few songs translated by users from italian to english, so that helps a bit.. and the songs we don't find there.. perhaps we could help each other with in here =) Thanks![/color:oqc8z81k]

ciao Lobna, it depends what kind of music you usually listen. Here some names : -Mina (female from Piemonte) -Adriano Celentano (male from Sicily) -Carmen Consoli (female from Sicily) -Irene Grandi (female from Tuscany) -Fabrizio De Andre' (male from Liguria) -Ligabue (male from Emilia-Romagna) -Pino Daniele (male from Campania-he sings as well in dialect from Naples) I hope this helps :)

This is a male, but worth the try. He is sergio Laccone, "Il ritorno degli eroi". The lyrics are included in Italian which I find helps me make the connection between the words heard and visualied. To to Laccone.com or [redacted] or [redacted]. And it is great music to listen to.\n\nPeggy

Altri bravi cantanti italiani sono: - Albano - Gianni Morandi - articolo 31 - Jovanotti - Ligabue - Vasco Rossi dipende dal gusto musicale. Un bel film da noleggiare è "Benvenuti al sud"(welcome to the South) di Luca Miniero. E' una commedia molto divertente! Spero ti piaccia :) Ciao

Try Youtube, there are lots of Italian singers/songs on there. My favourite at the moment is Gene Pitney's '24 Hours from Tulsa' in Italian 'A poche Ore'.
